Ian Hussein

Ian Hussein

Ian is a Trustee member in his capacity as President and Chairman of the Talbot House Association. His voluntary work also extends to being Chairman of the Larnaca Spartans RFC. Ian works for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and has directed its operations across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.

Colin Kerr

Treasurer & London Committee

Colin Kerr is a Trustee of the Foundation. He was a Director of The Commonwealth War Graves Commission from 2011 to 2017 and led the Commission’s work on the Centenary events, including Mons, Gallipoli, Jutland, The Somme and Passchendaele.

A Chartered Accountant, he started his career with Deloittes and has been a Director of Finance for most of his career. Recently he was Director of Finance and Business Performance for The Children’s Trust.

Colin is also Chair of the Charities Committee of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

Both of Colin’s grandfathers fought with 2nd Army in the Ypres salient and both visited Talbot House. He lives in Somerset, just outside of Bath.

Jan Louagie

Trustee

Jan has been working with Talbot House for most of his life, is the House’s historian and secretary to the Talbot House Association. He is author of A Touch of Paradise in Hell.

Paul Wright

Chair of London Committee

Paul Wright is the Chair of the Old Talbot House Foundation, London Committee. He has been associated with Talbot House for over 30 years, through his family connections in Flanders in the Great War. He served as an Army Chaplain in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Paul is a battlefield tour guide and has written and lectured on military history for many years. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Royal Belgian Benevolent Fund in the UK.

Howard Benge

Trustee & London Committee

Howard Benge is a Trustee of the Old Talbot House Foundation and has been working with Talbot House since curating an exhibition on its centenary in 2015.

He is a heritage professional, with 25 years’ experience, and has worked across museums, archives, archaeological sites, and historic properties.

He specialises in public engagement in particular education, exhibitions, and audience development. His career has taken him through the National Trust, Imperial War Museum, Historic Royal Palaces and most recently the City of London Corporation.

Liz George

Trustee & London Committee

Liz George volunteers with the Foundation, advising the London Committee on fundraising matters in particular.

She specialises in philanthropic giving, having worked with companies, charitable trusts and individual philanthropists to build long-term funding partnerships.

Her career spans both charities and not-for-profit membership organisations such as Hospice UK, the British Red Cross, The Royal College of Psychiatrists and The Royal British Legion Poppy Factory. She is currently Head of Appeal Strategy at The Children’s Trust and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising.

She comes from a military family, with both parents and grandparents having served in the British Army and herself served as a Reservist with the Intelligence Corps.

William De Vloo

Trustee

William De Vloo is the Treasurer for the Talbot House Association and represents the Belgian interest in the Foundation.

Louisa Evans

Trustee

Louisa Evans has been involved with Talbot House for over 35 years, and is passionate about its history, Tubby Clayton and telling those stories through education. Louisa’s ongoing interests include the conservation of the House and the researching the archives.
